Add a configuration to leave the default subject claim out of the application API response - #1193
GET /api/server/v1/applications/{id} fabricates a subject claim for local-dialect applications that have none stored (SP_APP.SUBJECT_CLAIM_URI is NULL): http://wso2.org/claims/userid when the application carries useUserIdForDefaultSubject=true, http://wso2.org/claims/username otherwise. Applications migrated from IS 5.x have no such property, so the Console shows Username as the subject attribute and the first save of the User Attributes tab writes it to the database. From then on sub is the username read from the user store instead of the username as entered at login, which is what a NULL subject claim produces at runtime (the 5.x behaviour). The token behaviour of a migrated application changes although the administrator never chose a subject attribute.
Fix
A new server configuration, off by default, under which the API returns no subject.claim when the application has no subject claim stored:
It is rendered as <ApplicationMgt><ExcludeDefaultSubjectClaim> by the identity.xml.j2 template change in wso2/carbon-identity-framework#8401 and read through IdentityUtil.getProperty. The synthesized useUserIdForDefaultSubject entry in advancedConfigurations.additionalSpProperties is still returned, so the Console keeps showing which default applies, and the User Attributes save already leaves subject.claim out of the PATCH when the server returned none, which keeps the column NULL. With the configuration absent or false the response is unchanged.
ApplicationManagementConstants: new key ApplicationMgt.ExcludeDefaultSubjectClaim
ServiceProviderToApiModel#buildSubjectClaimConfig: the default is assigned only when the key is not true
ServiceProviderToApiModelTest: new TestNG test for the subject block (default off, default on, explicit subject claim, both useUserIdForDefaultSubject values); the module had no tests before, so the test dependencies and testng.xml are added

Testing
Unit test: mvn clean install on the changed modules, the new test passes.
Runtime, same change on the IS 7.2.0 and 7.3.0 update lines with their templates: with the key absent, the GET of a migrated-shaped application (NULL subject, no useUserIdForDefaultSubject row) returns username, an untouched Console save persists it and the sub for logins ADmin / admin / ADMIN collapses to admin. With the key true the GET returns subject without claim, the Console shows Username as the disabled default, the untouched save sends subject without claim, the column stays NULL and sub keeps the login casing, through the password grant and through a browser (authorization code) login. An application created on 7.x behaves the same with User ID as the default; an application with an explicit username subject is unchanged in both arms; choosing an alternate attribute explicitly still persists it. With the key absent or false the GET bodies are byte-identical to the unpatched jars.
Adds the ApplicationMgt.ExcludeDefaultSubjectClaim configuration.
When enabled, the application API omits the default subject claim if none is stored. Explicitly stored subject claims remain in the response.
Adds TestNG coverage for the configuration states, stored claims, and both useUserIdForDefaultSubject values.
This helps prevent an unchanged save of a migrated application from storing the default claim and changing subsequent token subject behavior.
The application model now reads ApplicationMgt.ExcludeDefaultSubjectClaim. When the subject claim is blank and the local claim dialect applies, the model omits the default claim if the setting is true. Otherwise, it retains the existing default assignment. A stored subject claim takes precedence. Tests cover these cases and the tenant- and user-domain settings.

The configuration change is mergeable with a bounded testing follow-up: verify that the response retains the correct useUserIdForDefaultSubject property. No concrete runtime regression was established.

Explanation
The title names the main change: a new configuration that omits the default subject claim from the application API response. The changeset adds the EXCLUDE_DEFAULT_SUBJECT_CLAIM constant, the conditional in ServiceProviderToApiModel, and the related test. The title is specific and matches the objectives.
Full details: Description check
Explanation
The description follows the repository template and covers the main sections. Purpose links the issue (#28648) and explains the problem. Goals and Approach are covered by the Fix section, with a config example and a table of behavior. Testing covers unit and runtime checks. Release note, Documentation, Training, Certification, Marketing, Security checks, Samples, Related PRs, Migrations, Test environment, and Learning are absent, and the Developer Checklist is not ticked. Some of these are optional, but the Release note, Documentation, Security checks, and Test environment fields are missing or unfilled. The description is mostly complete with gaps in the template sections.
Resolution
Consider adding the following template sections or completing them: Release note (a short user-facing line about the new configuration), Documentation (link to docs for application_mgt.exclude_default_subject_claim, or N/A with reason), the Security checks answers (yes/no for each question), the Developer Checklist status, and Test environment (JDK, OS, and database used for the runtime checks). Also add Samples, Related PRs, Migrations, and Learning as N/A or with content. Marking Training, Certification, and Marketing as N/A with a brief reason keeps the template complete.

Explanation
The changes implement issue #28648. ServiceProviderToApiModel#buildSubjectClaimConfig reads ApplicationMgt.ExcludeDefaultSubjectClaim and omits the default claim when the value is true and no subject claim is stored. The existing default remains when the value is absent or false. Stored subject claims remain unchanged. The new TestNG data-driven test covers migrated-shaped applications, both default-subject modes, explicit claims, and both configuration states.

Explanation
The changed constant, configuration lookup, API mapping, test dependencies, test suite, and unit test directly support issue #28648. No unrelated product behavior is represented in the supplied change summary.

Add assertions for the useUserIdForDefaultSubject entry in the additional properties.
testBuildSubjectClaimConfig checks only the subject claim and its domain flags. Nothing asserts the synthesized useUserIdForDefaultSubject entry, so a change to that entry's name or value would not fail the suite.
The entry comes from the private getSpProperties(ServiceProvider) method. It appends the result of buildDefaultSubjectProperty after the stored properties are copied. Add a test that calls getSpProperties for stored "true", stored "false", and unset inputs. Use reflection, as the test class already does for buildSubjectClaimConfig. Then assert that the last entry is named useUserIdForDefaultSubject, with value "true", "false", and "false" respectively.
