Summary
I maintain Nora, an Apache-2.0,
self-hosted control plane for operating OpenClaw and Hermes agent runtimes.
I would like to propose a curated Docker Compose sample that demonstrates a
deterministic, zero-external-API-key first run: start the local Nora stack,
create the built-in demo agent, and inspect deployment state, health, chat,
logs, metrics, and lifecycle controls from the operator UI.
Why this sample could be useful
Many AI Compose examples focus on model serving or a single chat UI. This
sample would instead demonstrate the day-two operations shape around agent
runtimes: a control plane, asynchronous worker, PostgreSQL, Redis, and a local
operator surface coordinated through Compose.
The built-in deterministic demo path would let reviewers validate the workflow
without an OpenAI, Anthropic, NVIDIA, or other paid model key. Docker remains
Nora's recommended GA deployment target; experimental Remote Docker, NemoClaw,
and Proxmox paths would stay out of this sample.
Proposed sample scope
- a minimal
compose.yaml pinned to an immutable Nora release;
- only the services required for the local Docker demo path;
- generated/local secrets with no credentials committed to the sample;
- a README covering prerequisites, startup, health verification, the zero-key
demo flow, logs, and complete teardown;
- an explicit local-evaluation scope rather than unsupported production claims;
- an entry in Awesome Compose's root sample index.
If this direction is useful, I will first build and test the sample in an
isolated environment, then submit the README/index change and DCO-signed PR in
the structure the maintainers prefer. I will not open that PR until there is
maintainer direction on this proposal.
