TST: tests-numpy1 windows dtype failures #901

Open

Description

@lucascolley

Fixing this is probably low priority.

  • TestSearchsorted::test_nd (various)
  • TestUnravelIndex::test_simple
  • TestUnravelIndex::test_indices_2d
  • TestUnravelIndex::test_xp
  • test_lazy_apply_none_shape_in_args

All dtypes do not match: int32 != int64.

    what do we get with the below? I do not have a Windows machine so I cannot tell.

    int_type = xp.asarray(0).dtype

    - int_type = xp.asarray(0).dtype
    + int_type = default_dtype(xp, kind="indexing")

    This could also be related to NumPy on Windows choosing int32 as the default dtype. This was fixed in NumPy 2.0; it's better to xfail or drop support for 1.x entirely. Also encountered here.
