Allow unattended VM start/resume while the host Mac is locked #34
Could you add a per-VM opt-in allowing an authorized agent to start or resume a VM while the host stays locked?
I’m using VMPal 0.51 on a Mac Studio. A running guest works while the host is locked, but after saving/suspending, quitting and reopening VMPal, resume returns: “This Mac is locked. Unlock it to resume the saved session.” An earlier resume succeeded, so I’m unsure what determines the restriction.
Is this a known limitation, and could an opt-in setting support it?
Why this feature/change is important?
I’d like an agent to resume the VM, do its work, then suspend it and quit VMPal to free RAM between tasks. Having to unlock the host prevents that from running unattended. The host should remain locked with its normal security protections intact.
