By day, I write code at Slido (part of Cisco) so your meetings don't suck. By night, I solder things that probably void warranties.
Based in πΈπ° Bratislava, Slovakia, where the beer is cheap and the software engineers are not.
- π₯οΈ Build native desktop apps and integrations for macOS (Swift) and Windows (C#). Yes, both.
- π Write TypeScript, React and Node.js, because one ecosystem is never enough
- π Design PCBs and program microcontrollers, because software bugs weren't enough and I needed hardware bugs too
- π¨οΈ 3D design & print things at 2 AM that I absolutely did not need
π Slido for PowerPoint Β· current focus
Embed polls, quizzes, surveys and Q&A right into PowerPoint slides and have them launch automatically during the presentation.
Most of my time goes into the macOS integration (Swift, C, C++ and yes, even VBA). I also contribute to the Windows version (.NET/C#) and its frontend (React/TypeScript).
π½οΈ Slido for Google Slides
The same idea for Google Slides, built from several moving parts: a Chrome extension, a Google Slides add-on, a custom web player and the Slido Sidebar.
I helped build the Chrome extension and the add-on in the early days, before a dedicated team took the project over.
Native Windows and macOS apps that let presenters remote-control their computer from the Slido admin, switching between Slido and their slides mid-presentation. They have since been replaced by the deeper PowerPoint and Google Slides integrations above.
Create and manage Slido events and ask questions without leaving Slack. It had a nice run on Product Hunt but not enough users to survive, so it was shut down after two years. I built the backend (Node.js/TypeScript), the MySQL database and the Slack API integration.
In my free time I volunteer at MakerSpace Bratislava, a community workshop at NovΓ‘ Cvernovka. I help run the space and help people with their electronics and maker projects. I also teach:
- π Electronics fundamentals: my full-day course for complete beginners covering circuits, measurements, components and soldering
- π€ Electronics club for kids: weekly sessions where 8β15 year-olds go from blinking LEDs to their own Arduino projects
- π 3D modelling for printing (coming soon): a weekly course on designing functional parts in Autodesk Fusion
- Languages: Swift, C#, TypeScript, C/C++. I collect languages the way other people collect stamps.
- Hardware: ESP32, ESP8266, STM32, Arduino, Atmel AVR. If it has a chip on it, I'll flash firmware onto it.
- Tools: Xcode, Visual Studio and WebStorm for code, Autodesk Fusion for 3D modeling, KiCad for PCBs, and a soldering iron for everything else
