-- Specialization API: one door, so the old globals can disappear without us noticing
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-- 🔴 3 Oct 2026, measured against Blizzard's own live 12.1.0.69933 source: the globals
-- GetSpecialization, GetSpecializationInfo, GetNumSpecializationsForClassID and
-- GetActiveSpecGroup exist only as aliases in Blizzard_DeprecatedSpecialization, which
-- stops loading when the CVar loadDeprecationFallbacks is off and "will be removed at the
-- next expansion"; GetInspectSpecialization the same, "in a future patch". The alias is
-- literally C_SpecializationInfo.<same name>, same arguments and returns.
-- Most callers guard with `X and X()`, so losing the alias would not error — spec info
-- would just go silently missing in ~30 modules. Every module calls ns.<name> instead.

--- ⚠️ THE HELPER EXISTED SIX TIMES AND NONE OF THEM WAS REACHABLE.
---
--- `IsSecretValue` is defined as a file-local in DaggerspineCoach, DelveBossShowcase,
--- DelveCuriosAdvisor, DelveItemsPopup, DungeonBossWindow and RitualBossCoach. All six
--- are correct. None is exported, so a new module has nothing to call — and on 18 aug
--- SpotLog hand-rolled a seventh check, got it wrong, and threw on Rob's first target
--- that returned a secret name (the Timeworn Golem).
---
--- ⚠️ `type(x) == "string"` IS TRUE FOR A SECRET STRING. That is the trap, and it is
--- the same one that broke a probe on 16 aug. A type check does not protect a read;
--- only asking whether the value is secret does, BEFORE anything indexes it.
---
--- Declared here at the top of Core so every module loaded after it can use these

-- SavedVariables schema versioning + migrations (review F3.2)
-- `db.schemaVersion` records how far the DB has been migrated. Each entry in

--- 🔑 ONE KEY, ONE SCREEN — for a Stream Deck, a gaming keypad, or just a spare key.
---
--- Rob has a Stream Dock with Alt+M already on it, and asked for buttons that land straight
--- on Rares or Delves instead of opening the window and clicking. 9 Sep 2026, and the same
--- idea he raised on 8 Sep.
---
--- 📌 THE DESIGN QUESTION THAT STALLED IT IN SEPTEMBER DOES NOT APPLY HERE. That version was
--- per-screen SLASH COMMANDS (`/rares`), and the open problem was collision: short generic
--- names belong to whichever addon loads last, and stealing `/rares` from someone would be a
--- rude thing to ship. Bindings have no such namespace — they live under our own category in
--- Blizzard's own keybinding screen, and nothing outside it can be clobbered.
---
--- ⚠️ AND A BINDING IS THE BETTER FIT FOR THE HARDWARE ANYWAY. A Stream Deck can also type a
--- slash command, but that needs the chat box focused and an Enter, which is fragile mid-fight
--- and eats the keystroke if a text field already has focus. A binding is one keypress the
--- client routes itself.
